‘Don’t understand that stuff’: DCE responds to Roosters rumour and QLD axing after Manly loss

Manly captain Daly Cherry-Evans recently spoke out about being dropped from the Queensland team and avoided discussing rumors regarding the Roosters losing interest in signing him following the Sea Eagles' loss to the Titans.

Cherry-Evans had a subpar performance in Manly's disappointing 28-8 defeat against the Titans, adding to a tough week after being excluded from the Queensland squad by Billy Slater.

When asked about his Origin axing, Cherry-Evans mentioned that while the news initially hit hard, he has experienced similar situations before and had to move on. He emphasized the importance of focusing on things within his control and expressed disappointment in the team's performance on game day.

Regarding reports of the Roosters potentially losing interest in signing him, Cherry-Evans stated that he does not pay much attention to such speculation and is focused on his role at Manly. He acknowledged the team's recent back-to-back losses but stressed the need to concentrate on improving their performance.

During the game against the Titans, Manly suffered a setback as Haumole Olakau'atu sustained a dislocated shoulder, which could lead to an extended period on the sidelines. Coach Seibold confirmed the injury and expressed regret over losing a quality player.

Seibold admitted that his team was outplayed by the Titans, particularly in defense, and highlighted the importance of maintaining a consistent attitude and performance level. He took responsibility for the team's preparation and acknowledged the need to address their inconsistency throughout the season.

Cherry-Evans also praised former teammate Kieran Foran for his outstanding performance against Manly, recognizing his competitive spirit and contribution to the game.
