The Met Office has issued an amber warning for thunderstorms expected in parts of Kent and Sussex from Friday evening. The warning covers areas of East Sussex and Kent until the early hours of Saturday, with a yellow warning in place for West Sussex. According to the Met Office, locations within the amber warning zone may experience 30-50mm of rain, wind speeds reaching 40-50mph, and frequent lightning. The warning is set to expire at 05:00 BST on Saturday, while the yellow warning will remain in effect until 06:00.
