Pakistani Embassy in Iran instructed to remain vigilant and actively assist pilgrims; Foreign Office advises Zaireen from Pakistan to reconsider travel to Iran, Iraq.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed all relevant authorities to provide assistance for the safe return and protection of Pakistani Zaireen currently in Iran following Israel's strikes. Israel conducted widescale strikes targeting nuclear facilities, ballistic missile factories, and military commanders, initiating a prolonged operation to prevent Iran from building an atomic weapon.

Iran vowed a harsh response, with Israel working to intercept approximately 100 drones launched towards Israeli territory. In response to PM Shehbaz's directives, a Crisis Management Cell has been set up at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to monitor the situation and coordinate efforts.

The Pakistani Embassy in Iran has been directed to stay vigilant and actively assist the pilgrims. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar shared the embassy's hotline number: (0098)-2166941388. The prime minister stressed the need for immediate measures to ensure the safety of all Pakistani nationals in Iran and instructed the utilization of all available resources to facilitate their safe return to Pakistan.

He also mandated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Pakistani diplomatic mission in Iran remain on high alert until the regional situation normalizes, providing continued support and communication with the pilgrims. The Foreign Office advised Pakistani Zaireen to reconsider travel plans to Iran and Iraq due to the evolving security situation in the region.

Pakistan, along with other countries and international actors, condemned Israel's strikes, calling them unjustified and illegitimate aggression. The FO spokesperson emphasized Iran's right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter and urged the international community to uphold international law, halt the aggression, and hold the aggressor accountable for its actions.

President Asif Ali Zardari and PM Shehbaz both criticized Israel's military strikes as flagrant violations of Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity, expressing deep concern over the destabilizing impact on the volatile region.
