Lava Introduces Budget Smartphones with Dimensity Chips in Storm Series

Lava has launched two budget smartphones, Storm Play and Storm Lite, targeting younger consumers. Storm Play, priced at ₹9,999, features the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 processor, while Storm Lite, at ₹7,999, is the first Indian smartphone under ₹8,000 with the Dimensity 6400 chipset.

Lava International Limited has recently launched two new budget smartphones, Storm Play and Storm Lite, targeting younger consumers with affordable price tags.

Pricing and Specifications

Both devices will be exclusively available on Amazon, with Storm Play priced at ₹9,999 and set to release on 19 June, followed by Storm Lite at ₹7,999 on 24 June.

Storm Play stands out as the world's first smartphone to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 processor in the sub-₹10,000 segment. It boasts LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, a 6.75-inch HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP dual rear camera using Sony's IMX752 sensor, an 8MP front camera, and a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

The device comes with 6GB RAM, expandable up to 12GB, and 128GB internal storage. It runs on Android 15, offering a bloatware-free experience, with a commitment from Lava for one major Android upgrade and two years of security updates.

Storm Lite Features

On the other hand, Storm Lite is the first Indian smartphone under ₹8,000 to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset. It sports a 6.75-inch HD+ display, a 50MP Sony IMX752 rear camera, and a 5MP front camera. With over 410,000 AnTuTu score, it is designed for users seeking reliable performance for everyday tasks.

The device comes in 64GB or 128GB storage options, 4GB RAM (expandable up to 8GB), Android 15, 15W Type-C charging support, and a 5000mAh battery. It also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
