A former Love Island star has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for her significant role in a large drug smuggling operation described as 'Amazon-style'. Magdalena Sadlo, also known as Barbie, played a crucial part in transporting huge amounts of drugs across the world for a major cartel based in the Middle East.

Sadlo, who appeared in the 2021 series of Love Island in Poland, worked in Dubai's hospitality industry while helping to flood the UK streets with various drugs. She acted as a financial director for the smuggling ring, managing profits, costs, expenses, and stock levels.

The international cartel she was involved with operated at a high level, moving cocaine, ketamine, and cannabis to Holland and then to the UK. Sadlo also worked as a drugs courier in the UK, collecting cocaine imported into the port of Harwich in Essex and distributing it to dealers in Manchester.

She was caught at Heathrow Airport with luxury watches, bracelets, rings, and a 'crime CV' showcasing her business acumen. Encrypted texts on her phones revealed her nickname 'Barbie', and she was sentenced to 14 years in prison for conspiring to supply drugs and launder money.

Judge Nicholas Barker emphasized that Sadlo played a central role in the organization and acted with enthusiasm to impress those at the top. Thirteen other gang members have already been sentenced to up to 20 years each for their involvement in the drug cartel.
