A young man in his 20s has been taken into custody after police found drugs valued at €170,000 in a vehicle stopped in Listowel, Co Kerry.
On Friday night, just after 10pm, law enforcement intercepted the vehicle and discovered a significant amount of cannabis and cocaine.
The driver was apprehended on the spot and is currently held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a local police station in Co Kerry.
The substances will be examined by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for further analysis.
Police mentioned that investigations are ongoing and more updates will be provided in due course.
