The 2025 FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Teams Championship concluded with Team MGD1 securing first place after winning all matches on the final day. The tournament in London saw Hexamind finishing second, while Freedom, Uzbekistan, and WR Chess shared third place.

MGD1's Dominant Finish

The rapid section of the championship ended with Team MGD1 winning all four matches on the final day, claiming sole first place with 21 matchpoints out of 12 matches. A key player for MGD1 was Atharvaa P Tayade, who maintained a perfect record throughout the tournament, except for his only loss in the final round.

Hexamind and Freedom's Performances

Hexamind Chess Team secured second place with 20 matchpoints, closely following MGD1. Freedom, featuring former world champion Vishy Anand, tied for third place with Uzbekistan and WR Chess, all on 17 matchpoints.

WR Chess's Strong Performance

Team WR Chess, the rating favorites, had a strong performance throughout the tournament but slipped in the final round, allowing Team Uzbekistan to share third place.
