Vice President Sara Duterte has returned to the Philippines after spending four days on a personal trip with her family in Malaysia. The Office of the Vice President confirmed that Duterte arrived back in the country on Saturday, June 14, at around 5:43 a.m. She landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) via Philippine Airlines flight PR 530.

Recently, the Senate, acting as an impeachment court, voted (18-5) to send the articles of impeachment against Duterte back to the House of Representatives without dismissing them. The Vice President was impeached by the House of Representatives on February 5, with more than 200 lawmakers supporting the complaint against her. The charges included betrayal of public trust, culpable violation of the constitution, graft and corruption, and other serious offenses.
Duterte has stated that her legal team is currently preparing her response to the summons issued by the Senate impeachment court. Additionally, the Office of the Vice President announced that Duterte is expected to attend the 2025 PASIDUNGOG awarding ceremony in Davao City on Monday, June 16, 2025.
