The Israel Defense Forces have issued an apology for sharing an inaccurate map of India's international boundaries that incorrectly depicted Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistani territory. The IDF acknowledged that the map did not accurately represent borders.

In a post on X, the IDF clarified that the map was intended as an illustration of the region and apologized for any offense caused by the image.

The apology from the IDF came in response to criticism from various social media users, predominantly from India, who pointed out the error and called on the Israeli military to remove the post. Some users even tagged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in their comments.

Congress Responds to IDF's Post

In reaction to the map, the Congress party criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government, specifically Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for India's foreign policy. Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera used X, formerly Twitter, to criticize PM Modi, referring to the map as a diplomatic embarrassment.

Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have a close relationship, demonstrated through various high-profile visits, public gestures, and mutual admiration for each other's leadership. Modi made history in 2017 by becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel, marking a significant diplomatic milestone.

Israel-Iran Conflict

Following Israel's airstrikes, Iran launched a missile attack targeting northern Israel. Air-raid sirens were sounded, and civilians were advised to seek shelter. Earlier, Iran had sent over 100 drones towards Israel in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes on Iranian soil, resulting in the deaths of several top military officials, including Revolutionary Guards chief Hossein Salami.

The recent escalation occurred after Israeli forces conducted overnight airstrikes on Iran's nuclear and military facilities as part of 'Operation Rising Lion'.
