Israel apologised after a missile range map it released amid escalating tensions with Iran showed Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan and northeastern states as Nepal.

Israel's Defence Forces recently released a map showcasing the range of Iran's missiles, but it inaccurately portrayed Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan and the Northeast region of India as part of Nepal. Following a backlash, the military issued an apology, clarifying that the map was not meant to represent precise national borders.

The map was shared amidst escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, with the IDF emphasizing that Iran poses a global threat. The depiction of India within the missile range also sparked controversy.

After receiving criticism for the inaccuracies, the IDF responded by stating that the map was merely an illustration of the region and did not accurately reflect borders. They expressed regret for any offense caused by the image.

Users online pointed out the errors in the map, particularly highlighting the incorrect portrayal of Indian territories. The IDF's map included 15 countries, such as Russia, Ukraine, China, and Sudan, within the range of Iranian missiles.

Israel conducted airstrikes on Tehran in an effort to dismantle Iran's nuclear enrichment program, resulting in casualties and damage on both sides. The conflict escalated with retaliatory attacks from Iran, leading to further hostilities between the two nations.
