Magene has been gaining popularity recently for its range of bike electronics, including power meters, GPS head units, lights, and more. In this review, we take a closer look at their AT1200 and AT1600 smart lights, which offer a range of features in a compact design.

The AT1200 and AT1600 smart lights are very similar in features and construction, with the only noticeable difference being the maximum output. Both lights come with essential accessories for mounting and charging, making them easy to set up and use.

Designed with a sleek anodized aluminium casing, these lights are compact and stylish. They feature a single soft-touch button on top with a battery status indicator. The 120º beam is designed to avoid dazzling oncoming traffic, and the mounting plate can be adjusted for different mounting preferences.

One unique feature of the Magene smart lights is their connectivity options. Through the OnelapFit app, users can customize light settings and flash patterns. The lights are also ANT+ enabled, allowing for control and monitoring through compatible bike computers.

With a USB-C port that supports external discharge, these lights can also act as battery banks to charge other devices. While they may not provide a full charge, they can be useful in emergencies.

While not ideal for long endurance races, the 1200/1600 lumen output and 2/1.5-hour runtimes make these lights perfect for daily commutes or short rides after dark. They may not be bright enough for single track night riding on their own, but using them in combination can extend your riding hours post-sunset.
