Oleksandr Kucherenko pleaded guilty on Saturday at Dublin District Court to trespassing in a manner likely to place another person in fear on June 13th.

A court in Dublin heard that Oleksandr Kucherenko, a former Ukrainian soldier, caused a security alert by trespassing at the US ambassador to Ireland's official residence in Dublin.

Kucherenko, 33, pleaded guilty to trespassing in a manner likely to cause fear on June 13th at the Dublin District Court. He claimed to be sight-seeing after being arrested for wandering into the grounds of the Deerfields residence in Phoenix Park.

Judge Michele Finan ordered him to make a donation to the Red Cross and adjourned his case until Friday, with bail and a daily signing on condition. Kucherenko, who arrived in the country hours before his arrest, plans to leave as soon as possible.

Garda Martin Curley stated that Kucherenko crossed a moat and climbed an eight-foot wall into the property, triggering a perimeter alarm at 3:30 pm. Security personnel detained him shortly after.

Defence barrister Kevin McCrave explained that Kucherenko, who had been in the Ukrainian army, came to Ireland to visit friends. He unintentionally ended up in Phoenix Park and was apologetic for his actions.

Kucherenko, whose father was killed in action in the war against Russia, expressed his desire to join family members in Spain. He was ordered to sign on daily at a garda station, avoid the ambassador's residence, and have no contact with the occupants.

Legal aid was granted to Kucherenko, who is to stay in hostel accommodation during this time.
