A tragic incident occurred on the evening of June 14 near the Woodlands Checkpoint, resulting in the death of a 45-year-old woman. The accident involved a motorcycle and two cars on the expressway. The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded to the scene after being alerted to the accident along the BKE towards Woodlands Checkpoint. The motorcyclist, a 37-year-old man, was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, while his pillion rider was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.

Footage of the accident shows two cars that appear to have collided on the rightmost lane, with a motorbike lying on its side nearby. The expressway leading towards the checkpoint was affected by the accident, with pieces of the vehicles scattered on the ground. SCDF paramedics were seen treating a person in the middle lane, while police officers were attending to a body covered by a white sheet on the road shoulder. Police investigations are currently ongoing.

This tragic incident occurred on the same day as another accident in the same area of the BKE, where a 27-year-old motorcyclist was taken to the hospital just after midnight.
