King Charles III wore a black armband at the Trooping the Colour military parade as a mark of respect for the victims of the Air India plane crash.

During the Trooping the Colour military parade, King Charles III and other senior royals wore black armbands to honor the victims of the Air India plane crash. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner bound for London crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, India, claiming the lives of at least 270 people, making it the worst aviation disaster in a decade.

King Charles III, along with the royal family, observed a minute's silence after inspecting the parade, which commemorates his official birthday. The monarch's gesture was a mark of respect for the lives lost, the grieving families, and the affected communities.

The Trooping the Colour parade is a historic ceremony filled with pageantry and military bands, where the king reviews his troops on Horse Guards Parade in central London. This year, the event also paid tribute to the victims of the tragic plane crash.

Queen Elizabeth II had a similar moment of silence during Trooping the Colour in 2017 following the Grenfell Tower fire that claimed 72 lives. These solemn gestures highlight the royal family's compassion and solidarity during times of national tragedy.
