Meath secured their spot in the TG4 Ladies All-Ireland SFC quarter-finals after defeating Kildare in a low-scoring match at Manguard Park.
The game was a tale of two halves, with challenging weather conditions in the first half leading to mistakes from both teams. However, the rain cleared up before halftime, but the quality of football did not improve significantly.
Kildare's Lara Curran scored early in the second minute, followed by a point from Roisin Byrne to put them ahead. Meath's Emma Duggan then scored a free to get her team on the board.
Despite some missed opportunities, Meath managed to level the score at 0-02 each just before halftime. Duggan's performance in the second half proved crucial as she scored multiple points to give Meath the lead.
Meath faced a setback when Vikki Wall received a yellow card, reducing them to 14 players. However, they maintained their lead and extended it with excellent plays from Marion Farrelly.
Although Kildare tried to close the gap with late scores, Meath's strong defense secured the win in the end.
