CAAP said in a statement that the incident happened at around 8:20 a.m. on Saturday aboard Cebu Pacific flight 5J851 from Manila.

Over the weekend, operations at Zamboanga International Airport (ZIA) were momentarily halted due to a bomb threat found on a tissue paper inside an aircraft. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported that the incident took place on a Cebu Pacific flight from Manila.

Upon passengers disembarking, a flight attendant discovered a handwritten message on a tissue note in one of the lavatories indicating the presence of a bomb. This prompted the activation of security protocols and a thorough inspection of the aircraft by the Aviation Security Unit.

No explosives were found during the inspection, and the airport's Passenger Terminal Building also underwent a paneling operation as a precautionary measure. Normal operations resumed shortly after the situation was deemed under control.

The CAAP reiterated the seriousness of such threats, emphasizing that bomb threats are illegal and punishable by law. They reminded the public of the consequences under Presidential Decree No. 1727 for spreading false information about bombs or explosives.
