Apollo Hospitals in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, has recently received the Comprehensive Chest Pain Centre Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA). This prestigious certification is granted to hospitals that demonstrate excellence in the prompt evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of chest pain, particularly in critical situations like ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI), a severe type of heart attack, as stated in a press release by the hospital.
Tejesvi Rao, the CEO of Apollo Hospitals in the Telangana Region, emphasized the significance of this achievement by highlighting the alarming statistics related to cardiovascular diseases. Globally, heart diseases are the primary cause of mortality, responsible for 32% of all deaths. In India, heart disease accounts for nearly 36% of adult fatalities aged between 30 and 69 years.
