Emma Raducanu has decided to skip the upcoming Berlin Tennis Open as she continues to deal with a back problem that has been bothering her since last month's Strasbourg tournament. The British No. 1 took a medical timeout during her recent quarter-final defeat at Queen's Club and expressed the need for proper management of her back issues.
Raducanu, who had received a wild card invitation to the WTA 500 event in Berlin, has chosen to prioritize rest and recovery to ensure she is in optimal condition for Wimbledon. While this means she will not be seeded for the tournament, she remains hopeful of participating in the Lexus Eastbourne Open just before Wimbledon.
Last year, Raducanu achieved a significant milestone by defeating a top-10 player and reaching the fourth round at Wimbledon. Despite missing out on Berlin, she is focused on regaining full fitness for the upcoming grand slam event.
