Mathys Tel has officially made his move from Bayern Munich to Tottenham Hotspur permanent, as confirmed by the Premier League club.

According to sources, Spurs reached an agreement with Bayern for a transfer fee of €40 million ($46.2m), including bonuses for the young forward.

The 20-year-old French under-21 international had previously been on loan at Tottenham during the second half of the 2024-25 season, where he played a key role in the team's Europa League triumph, ending a 17-year trophy drought for the club.

During his loan spell, Tel scored two goals and provided one assist in 13 appearances for the north London side.

Following the departure of former coach Ange Postecoglou, who signed Tel, there were uncertainties about the player's future. However, new Spurs manager Thomas Frank wasted no time in making Tel his first signing since taking over from Postecoglou.

Tel has put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at Tottenham until 2031, solidifying his commitment to the club for the long term.
