Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthoy M. Viado announced on Sunday, June 15, that he and the Bureau of Immigration (BI) are committed to fully cooperating with the Senate in the investigation of alleged corruptions.

Viado expressed his belief that the Senate hearings will assist in identifying and removing undesirable elements within the agency while maintaining the momentum of ongoing reforms.

In response to Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian's announcement of a probe into a 'white paper' allegedly from concerned BI employees accusing the commissioner of corruption, Viado stated that he has directed BI officials and personnel to fully cooperate with the Senate's investigation.

He reassured the BI staff that Senator Gatchalian is known for his fairness and impartiality, emphasizing that they have nothing to fear.

Viado also called on the employees behind the 'white paper' to come forward and assist in the inquiry, promising full protection from his office.
