In a video she explained how the ordeal began: 'I went to the GP with what I thought was perimenopause symptoms and part of that was a bit of brain fog and memory.

Jane Roberts, a 46-year-old mother-of-one, initially attributed her confusion and forgetfulness to the menopause but was devastated to discover she had an inoperable brain tumor. She visited her GP with what she believed were perimenopause symptoms, including brain fog and memory issues. However, her doctor suspected early-onset dementia and ordered a CT scan, revealing a malignant glioma on March 21, 2025.

The standard treatment for this type of cancer involves surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. Unfortunately, Jane's tumor was located deep in her thalamus, making it inoperable. She is currently awaiting the results of an MRI scan to determine the cancer's progression.

Jane has been sharing her story on TikTok to raise awareness, urging others not to ignore unusual symptoms. Gliomas are brain tumors that develop in glial cells and can be slow-growing or aggressive. Symptoms vary but may include headaches, memory loss, seizures, and mood changes.

When a glioma is inoperable, treatment focuses on slowing its growth with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Palliative care may also be offered to manage symptoms and improve quality of life. Despite the challenges, Jane remains positive and shares her journey on social media, embracing both the highs and lows of her experience.
