A British F-35 fighter jet had to make an emergency landing at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Saturday night, as reported by PTI sources. The reason for the emergency landing was low fuel, and the aircraft is currently stationed at the airport.

According to a source, the pilot communicated the low fuel situation and requested permission to land, which was promptly and professionally handled. Refuelling will be carried out once approval is granted by the relevant authorities in the Central government.

The jet, believed to have taken off from an aircraft carrier, safely landed at approximately 9:30 pm on Sunday. Airport authorities took the necessary steps to declare an emergency to facilitate a smooth and secure landing for the fighter jet.
