Donaire, 42, beat Andres Campos by technical decision after the bout was stopped in the ninth round after a clash of heads left the Filipino Flash unable to see out of his right eye.

Nonito Donaire, at the age of 42, secured the WBA's interim bantamweight title in Buenos Aires, Argentina, marking his return to the ring after nearly two years.

During the fight, Donaire faced off against Andres Campos, ultimately winning by technical decision in the ninth round due to a clash of heads that impaired his vision in the right eye.

At the time of the stoppage, Donaire was ahead on all three scorecards with scores of 87-84, 87-84, and 88-83.

With this victory, Donaire (43-8, 28 KOs) is now set to challenge the winner of the upcoming Antonio Vargas vs. Daigo Higa match scheduled for July 30 in Japan.

Prior to this win, Donaire had suffered two consecutive losses. He was defeated by Naoya Inoue in a second-round stoppage during their rematch for the junior featherweight title in 2022. In his most recent fight a year later, Donaire lost by unanimous decision to Alexandro Santiago in a battle for the vacant WBO bantamweight title on the undercard of Terence Crawford's victory over Errol Spence.
