Fans can anticipate witnessing record-breaking achievements at the upcoming World Aquatics Championships (WCH) in Singapore, scheduled from July 11 to August 3. Organizers recently provided a sneak peek and behind-the-scenes tour of the WCH Arena on June 16, setting the stage for potential historic moments.

The WCH Arena, situated in Carpark G near the Kallang Tennis and Kallang Football Hubs, boasts a purpose-built long-course pool that will be the centerpiece for swimming (July 27-August 3) and artistic swimming (July 18-25) events. The pool, measuring 50m by 26m with a depth of three meters, offers a wider and deeper setting compared to previous championships, potentially paving the way for swimmers to break records.

At the heart of the WCH Arena is the competition pool, designed to be fast and conducive for world-class athletes. The deeper pool reduces water turbulence, providing calmer waters for faster times. With the ideal conditions and top-tier athletes expected to compete, the stage is set for new world records to be set.

The construction of the WCH Arena commenced in December 2024, with completion in May following a tight timeline and challenging weather conditions. The compact facility, with a seating capacity of 4,800, stands out for its unique features, including red seats and advanced starting blocks designed to propel swimmers efficiently into the pool.

Moreover, the WCH Arena offers a fan-friendly environment with interactive activities, merchandise areas, sponsor booths, and food and beverage stalls. The venue will also be equipped with cutting-edge technology, including 5G+ infrastructure provided by Singtel to meet the connectivity needs of all stakeholders.

Over 2,500 athletes from around the world will participate in the six aquatic disciplines at the championships, with various events scheduled at different venues across Singapore. The upcoming Southeast Asia Age Group Aquatics Championships will serve as a test event for the WCH, offering a glimpse of the exciting competitions to come.

With the stage set for an exhilarating showcase of aquatic sports, fans and athletes alike can look forward to witnessing exceptional performances and potentially witnessing new records being established at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.
