During his visit, PM Modi was honored with the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III by Cyprus, the highest honor awarded by the country. This recognition symbolizes the strong friendship between Cyprus and India, and PM Modi expressed gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him.

The Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III is named after Archbishop Makarios III, the first president of Cyprus, and is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to Cyprus or humanity at large. The insignia of the order reflects the historical and cultural significance of Makarios III's leadership.
