Up to 38C in southern Spain - warm here too

June has been unpredictable so far in terms of weather, with a mix of rain, thunderstorms, and cool temperatures. However, as we approach the middle of the year and enjoy longer days, it seems like summer is finally arriving with temperatures reaching the mid-20s.

According to the latest forecast from Met Éireann, we can expect a period of settled, warm, and dry weather for most of this week and possibly extending into the weekend. While it's uncertain if Cork's 'Bonna Night' on June 23rd will be dry, the outlook is favorable for the traditional bonfires that are lit on this day.

The main highlight from Met Éireann's forecast is the prediction of 'Lots of dry and fine weather this week but with the chance of a few showers.'

Munster Weather Forecast:

  • TODAY - Monday 16th June: Expect mostly dry conditions with a mix of clouds and hazy sunshine. Temperatures will reach 19 to 21 degrees with moderate to fresh southwest winds.
  • TONIGHT: The evening will remain dry, but patchy rain and drizzle are expected later on. Overnight temperatures will range from 11 to 14 degrees with moderate southwest winds.
  • TOMORROW - Tuesday 17th June: Patchy rain and drizzle will clear in the morning, giving way to dry and bright weather with warm sunshine. Temperatures will be between 19 to 21 degrees with moderate southwest to west winds.

National Outlook:

Looking ahead, the week will bring lots of dry and fine weather with the possibility of a few showers. Tuesday night will be mostly dry, with a chance of rain in some northern areas. Wednesday will see sunny spells across the country, while Thursday promises a dry and warm day with summer sunshine. Friday is expected to be warm and humid with sunny spells, and the weekend will continue to be warm and humid with a chance of heavy showers in some regions.
