Renowned comedic duo Tom and Paschal, akin to Laurel and Hardy or Morecambe and Wise, have left a lasting legacy in the world of comedy. Following the recent passing of Paschal O'Grady at the age of 93, the duo is reunited in the afterlife. Paschal, along with his wife Marie and other volunteers, brought joy to residents at Milford Care Centre for over two decades.

Tom O'Donnell and Paschal met in the Scouts in 1945, forming a lifelong friendship based on their shared love for laughter. Their iconic Christmas Crackers show in 1959 marked the beginning of a successful career that saw them perform on renowned stages worldwide.

Throughout their career, Tom and Paschal entertained audiences with their slapstick humor, sketches, and mimicry. Their performances often featured local references and characters, capturing the hearts of many. They also dedicated their time to fundraising for various causes, leaving a lasting impact on communities around County Limerick.

The duo's final show took place in 1994 at Shannon Airport, concluding a long and successful career. Paschal's recent passing has prompted an outpouring of tributes, highlighting his unique contributions to the entertainment sector in Limerick and the Mid-West region.

Paschal will be laid to rest alongside his comedic partner, Tom, at Mount St Lawrence Cemetery. He is survived by his beloved wife Marie, children, grandchildren, and a wide circle of family and friends who will dearly miss him.
