The Air India flight had departed from Hong Kong and was en route to Delhi when the issue was detected

An Air India flight traveling from Hong Kong to Delhi was forced to turn back after the pilot reported a suspected glitch mid-flight. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner departed on Monday morning and quickly detected the issue, prompting the pilot of flight AI315 to return to Hong Kong following safety protocols. Air India has not provided further updates on the situation or the rescheduling of the flight, but the aircraft landed safely back in the city of origin with no injuries reported. Shortly after landing, all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated from the aircraft.

Another Air India flight from Delhi to Vadodara also had to return on Sunday evening due to a suspected landing gear issue. The Airbus A321 departed at 6:51 pm when the pilot noticed the landing gear malfunction. The crew made a precautionary landing, ensuring a safe arrival. Just last week, tragedy struck when an Air India Boeing 787, the same model as the aircraft that turned back today, crashed after take-off from Ahmedabad airport, resulting in the loss of at least 270 lives. The London-bound plane exploded into a fireball less than a minute after take-off, with only one survivor out of 242 passengers.
