British singer-songwriter Calum Scott has recently been presented with the prestigious BRIT Billion Award in recognition of his outstanding achievement of surpassing one billion career streams in the UK.

The surprise award was given to him by his mother, Debbie Scott, at Universal Music Group's London headquarters.

Among his most popular streaming hits, 'Dancing On My Own' leads the way with 330 million streams in the UK, followed by 'You Are The Reason' with 260 million streams.

Established in 2023, the BRIT Billion Award celebrates artists who have achieved a billion UK streams across their music catalog. Calum Scott now joins a select group of over 40 recipients, which includes legendary acts like Queen, Whitney Houston, the Rolling Stones, and ABBA, as well as contemporary stars such as Lewis Capaldi, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Camila Cabello, and Raye.

This prestigious honor highlights the significant impact of streaming on the music industry. Approximately 85% of the UK's recorded music consumption comes from streaming, with a record 180 billion audio streams in 2023 alone.

Every year, more than 2,000 artists achieve over 10 million streams in the UK, while over 10,000 artists are streamed more than a million times, underscoring the vast scale and diversity of modern music listening habits.

Expressing his gratitude, Calum Scott stated, 'It's an absolute honor to receive the BRIT Billion Award. Being recognized alongside the incredible artists I grew up listening to feels surreal. Having my mom present the award, who has been my biggest supporter, made it even more special. I am thankful to all my fans and everyone who has supported me from the beginning. I look forward to seeing everyone on tour later this year.'

Calum Scott is set to release his new album, 'Avenoir,' on September 12 through EMI. The 'Avenoir Tour' will kick off in arenas across the UK and Europe in the fall, with shows in North America scheduled for 2026.
