The juror gave conflicting information about where he lived and has now been replaced.

Lawyers have been discussing the possible dismissal of a juror in the Diddy trial over the past week. Lead prosecutor Maurene Comey requested the juror be replaced due to what she called 'a lack of candour'.

The prosecution revealed that the juror had given conflicting information about his place of residence. While he initially disclosed that he had recently moved to New Jersey with his girlfriend and had been staying there during the trial, he later stated that he was actually residing in an apartment in the Bronx, New York, during the week for work and jury duty.

During a prospective juror interview several weeks ago, the juror had mentioned living in the Bronx with his fiancé and daughter. He had also referred to living with an aunt at one point, but later omitted her from his statements.

The judge identified 'several inconsistencies' in the juror's responses, which raised concerns about his candour and ability to follow instructions. With six alternative jurors available, the judge deemed it necessary to remove the juror to maintain the court's integrity.

One of Diddy's lawyers, Xavier Donaldson, objected to the judge's decision, emphasizing that it is common for New Yorkers to move between the city and New Jersey. Donaldson argued that inconsistencies should not be equated with lying and expressed confidence in the juror's ability to follow instructions.

Donaldson also highlighted the diversity of the trial's jury, stating that dismissing the juror would be a setback. He emphasized the importance of diversity and raised concerns about the potential impact on the trial's fairness.

Diddy's legal team had requested a mistrial if the juror was dismissed.
