Two fatal crashes have occurred in Ireland, claiming the lives of a young father and a motorcyclist in separate incidents. Jack Goss, a 21-year-old father of a four-month-old girl, tragically passed away after an e-scooter crash in Finglas, Dublin. Additionally, a motorcyclist in his 40s lost his life following a collision with a car in Monaghan. These incidents have resulted in multiple injuries and hospitalizations across the country in recent days.
Jack Goss was fatally injured when his e-scooter crashed on the Cappagh Road in Dublin 11. Despite being rushed to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment, he succumbed to his injuries. The young man, a fourth-year apprentice, leaves behind a young daughter.
Meanwhile, the motorcyclist in Monaghan was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on the R190 at Lisnalong. The road between Ballybay and Cootehill is currently closed for investigation, with local diversions in place. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward to assist in the investigation.
In a separate incident in Tuam, Co Galway, one man sustained serious injuries, and four others were hospitalized with minor injuries following a two-car collision. The road remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examine the scene. Local diversions are in place to manage traffic.
Another road traffic collision in Co Clare resulted in a man being airlifted to hospital with serious injuries. The incident, involving a car and a motorbike, took place on the R460 between Tubber and Gort. The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was airlifted to University Hospital Galway for treatment, while the car driver escaped uninjured.
