A man has been sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum term of 39 years, for the murder of two women on Christmas Day.

Jazwell Brown, 49, admitted to killing Teohna Grant and Jo Pearson in Milton Keynes last year, along with two counts of attempted murder. The brutal attacks were carried out while he was under the influence of crack cocaine.

Brown fatally assaulted his partner, 38-year-old Ms. Pearson, by stabbing her multiple times and beating her with a baseball bat. He also tried to kill his 18-year-old son, Jake Brown, using the same weapons.

Afterwards, Brown went to his neighbor's flat, where he killed 24-year-old Teohna Grant and severely injured her partner, Bradley Latter. Despite sustaining over 20 neck injuries, Mr. Latter survived the attack.

Following the murders, Brown fled the scene in his car, driving recklessly at high speeds before being apprehended. A doorbell camera captured footage of Ms. Pearson's bloodied dog wandering around.

According to Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin, the emergency services faced scenes that were beyond description that evening. He stated, "The events that unfolded on that day were truly horrific and tragic. We may never know what prompted Brown to behave in such a manner."

Aside from the life sentences for the murders of Ms. Pearson and Ms. Grant, Brown received additional prison terms for the attempted murders of his son and Mr. Latter, as well as for attacking Ms. Pearson's dog and possessing a knife in a public place.

Jake Brown described his father as emotionless during the attacks, with no apparent reason or argument preceding the violence. The teenager likened the experience to a horror movie.

In a statement, Ms. Pearson's family expressed their devastation at her untimely death, while Ms. Grant was remembered as a person with a kind and loving heart. Both families mourn the loss of their loved ones due to the senseless and cruel actions of another.
