A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a third suspect wanted in connection with the fatal assault of a Brampton, Ont., food delivery driver two years ago.

Peel Regional Police are searching for 25-year-old Devaunte Thompson on a second-degree murder charge in the death of Gurvinder Nath, 24, who was attacked while delivering pizza to a Mississauga address in July 2023.

Investigators revealed that Nath, an international student, was lured to the property where he was violently assaulted, robbed of his vehicle, and left critically injured by the suspects who fled the scene. Despite efforts from witnesses who called for help, Nath succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead days later.

Two other suspects have already been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection to the case. Nath's vehicle was found abandoned near the crime scene shortly after the attack.

Gurvinder Nath, originally from India, had recently arrived in Canada with aspirations of starting his own business. He was on a break from business school when the tragic incident occurred.

Devaunte Thompson, a resident of Caledon, Ont., is described as a Black male, approximately six-feet tall, with a medium complexion, thin build, and brown eyes.
