A man was arrested on suspicion of murder after the woman’s body was found inside the property in Stoke Newington, north London

Annabel Rook, a 46-year-old community worker and mother of two, was tragically found fatally stabbed inside her home in Dumont Road, Stoke Newington, north London. The discovery was made just before 5 am on Tuesday, shortly before a suspected gas explosion occurred.

Authorities from the Scotland Yard are currently investigating the incident, which resulted in the two-storey terraced house being engulfed in flames following the gas explosion. Sadly, Rook passed away at the scene due to the injuries sustained.

A 44-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder by the Metropolitan Police. The suspect was also taken to the hospital to receive treatment for slash wounds that were deemed non life-threatening.

Fortunately, Rook's two children, aged nine and seven, were not present inside the property at the time of the explosion. They were taken to the hospital for evaluation and are reported to be in stable condition.
