Proposed budget includes a Rs 42 billion surplus, marking Balochistan's first trillion-rupee budget

The Balochistan government has recently unveiled its first-ever surplus budget amounting to Rs 1,028 billion, marking a significant milestone for the province. The budget was presented by Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shuaib Noshirovani during a session of the Balochistan Assembly chaired by Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai.

In his budget speech, Minister Noshirovani highlighted the successful utilization of the entire development budget for the current fiscal year. He emphasized the positive outcomes achieved across various sectors due to the government's focus on development.

The proposed budget includes a surplus of Rs 42 billion, a historic moment for Balochistan as it surpasses the trillion-rupee mark for the first time. Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti had previously announced that the budget would prioritize the health and education sectors, emphasizing sustainable development over politically motivated projects.

Bugti assured that the final budget draft would incorporate recommendations from the parliamentary committee to ensure inclusivity and relevance. He also emphasized the government's commitment to transparency in the allocation of development funds, stating that political considerations would not influence the process.

Provincial government spokesperson Shahid Rind reiterated that the budget would focus on promoting economic and social progress in underprivileged areas, reflecting the government's dedication to addressing the genuine needs of the people of Balochistan.
