Alexandra Eala's journey at the 2025 Nottingham Open came to an end in the round of 32 when she was defeated by sixth seed Magda Linette in straight sets. The Filipina tennis player lost 6-4, 6-3 to the Polish player, succumbing to a triple break that marked the conclusion of her tournament in Great Britain.

Eala managed to save four match points on her serve during the opening round of the main draw, but she was unable to hold off the pressure on the fifth occasion, allowing Linette to secure the break. The twenty-year-old had to battle through the qualifying rounds at the WTA 250 event, defeating Varvara Gracheva and Anca Todoni. However, she faced a tough challenge in the round of 32 against the experienced world number 31.

On the grass season, Eala has now suffered her third main draw defeat, having previously competed at the Birmingham Open and the Ilkley Open, both held in Britain. The Nottingham Open, taking place from 16-22 June, serves as a warm-up event for Wimbledon, which is set to begin on 30 June. Linette's next opponent in the round of 16 will be either home player Mingge Xu or Katie Volynets from the USA.
