The annual Tibohine Fly-In, a significant event in the flying and community calendar, is scheduled for this weekend on June 21st and 22nd. The proceeds from the event will be donated to Childhood Cancer Ireland (CCI).
Organized by James Morrisroe and members of Tibohine Flying Club, the Fly-In has raised around €56,500 for various local charities in the past.
James Morrisroe expressed his excitement for this year's event, stating, "We are thrilled to host the annual Fly-In once again, an enjoyable event that will raise funds for Childhood Cancer Ireland. Several aircraft from the region will be participating, weather permitting." Childhood Cancer Ireland is a national charity advocating for children, young cancer patients, survivors, and their families, benefiting numerous families in the county.
Tibohine Airfield, near Frenchpark (next to the old Ballaghaderreen turnoff), will be open to spectators and families for a minimum donation of €5, all of which will support Childhood Cancer Ireland. The event will feature a barbecue on both days and various family-friendly activities from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
