Concerns grow that the conflict could spark a wider regional war.

Amid escalating tensions, Israel and Iran have engaged in a series of strikes, raising concerns about a wider regional conflict.

Israel launched multiple strikes across Iran, prompting Tehran to retaliate with missile attacks, marking the fifth consecutive day of hostilities. The ongoing violence comes as the United States President Donald Trump called for the immediate evacuation of Tehran, heightening fears of a potential broader and devastating war.

The Israeli military confirmed carrying out extensive strikes on missile sites and other military targets in western Iran. Dozens of missile and drone facilities were targeted in the attacks. Iranian media reported loud explosions in Tabriz, where an air force base was hit. In Kashan, three people were killed and four injured in the strikes, while a residential building in Tehran was also hit.

Israel reported intercepting missiles fired by Iran, with explosions heard in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Emergency services responded to a strike in Herzliya, where plumes of smoke were visible. Ten people were injured in Tel Aviv while seeking shelter during air raid sirens.

Al Jazeera's Nour Odeh reported that Israel's military censor has restricted the release of information about Herzliya, citing its sensitivity as a potential military or intelligence site. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to have targeted intelligence buildings in Herzliya, an assertion that Israel has not confirmed.

During the conflict, Israel claimed to have assassinated General Ali Shadmani, a senior Iranian military official. Shadmani, described as Iran's wartime chief of staff and a close adviser to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, was reportedly killed in a precise strike in central Tehran. This incident follows a series of assassinations of Iranian generals and nuclear scientists by Israel.

As international calls for de-escalation grow, Trump has shown support for Israel, urging the evacuation of Tehran and emphasizing the prevention of Iran's nuclear weapon development. Despite leaving the G7 summit early, Trump denied that his departure was related to arranging a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

G7 leaders, in a statement before Trump's exit, labeled Iran as a major source of regional instability and terror, affirming Israel's right to self-defense. Israel justifies its attacks as necessary to halt Iran's nuclear ambitions, while Iran continues to retaliate with missile and drone strikes.
