Ubisoft has reassured fans that the long-delayed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is still in development, despite the ongoing wait for news. The project, first announced in 2020, has faced numerous delays and a full reboot, but Ubisoft confirmed that it is 'deep' in development with a vague 2026 launch window.

The publisher recommended fans to try out The Rogue Prince of Persia while waiting for the remake. Developed by Evil Empire, this fast and stylish game is set to leave early access in August. Additionally, Ubisoft's 2024 Metroidvania-style entry, The Lost Crown, failed to generate sales, leading to the disbandment of its development team.

Ubisoft, currently in a quiet period for new game launches, has delayed several upcoming big budget releases to allow for extra development time. The company is restructuring with the help of a €1.16 billion investment from Tencent, which may result in a longer wait for the return of franchises like Far Cry.
