Cheering crowds greet Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh outside London court after lawyers challenge validity of case

Kneecap rapper Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, known as Mo Chara, has been granted unconditional bail following a legal challenge to the validity of the terrorism charge against him.

Ó hAnnaidh, 27, from Belfast, is accused of supporting Hezbollah and chanting pro-Hamas slogans at a concert in London last year.

His defense team argued that the charge was made outside the court's jurisdiction window, leading to a new hearing date set for August 20.

Prosecutors clarified that the case was not about his political views but rather his alleged actions at the event.

After leaving court, Ó hAnnaidh was met with cheers and support from fans and protesters, with plans to perform at Glastonbury festival this weekend.

Crowds Celebrate Release

Outside the court, Ó hAnnaidh's legal team addressed the crowd, emphasizing the band's global support and criticizing the rushed prosecution.

Speaking to fans, Ó hAnnaidh announced the band's upcoming performance and led a chant in support of Palestine.

Supporters gathered early in the morning, creating a festive atmosphere with Irish, Palestinian, and anti-fascist flags, as well as creative handmade signs.
