Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has been hospitalized with an acute case of gastroenteritis, causing him to miss the opening game of the FIFA Club World Cup against Al Hilal. Coach Xabi Alonso is hopeful Mbappe will be available for the next game against Pachuca. However, his hospitalization raises concerns about his participation in the tournament.

The club released a statement confirming Mbappe's condition and hospitalization for tests and treatment.
