Liverpool has been advised that there might be only one way to convince Newcastle United to reconsider selling Alexander Isak this summer.

The Reds are set to become this summer's biggest spenders with the imminent signings of Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez, but their transfer activity is far from over.

Seeking a replacement for Darwin Nunez, Liverpool has set its sights on Isak, who has established himself as one of the top strikers globally after an impressive season with Newcastle, scoring 27 goals in 42 appearances.

Despite Newcastle's strong negotiating position due to reduced financial pressure, Liverpool remains keen on securing Isak's services, with reports suggesting they are prepared to make a 'record' bid that could exceed the £116m earmarked for Wirtz.

Sport journalist Ben Jacobs confirms that Liverpool is not giving up on the Isak deal, acknowledging the challenges but hinting at a potential breakthrough in negotiations in the coming weeks.

Jacobs suggests that a bid in the region of £200m may be necessary to sway Newcastle's stance on Isak, with Liverpool willing to offer a guaranteed £100m upfront and a comprehensive package that could surpass the Wirtz deal.

While Newcastle holds a strong position with Champions League football and Isak's existing contract, a substantial offer exceeding £150m or even closer to £200m could potentially change the situation and prompt Liverpool to intensify their pursuit of Isak.
