Vipin Raghuvanshi, the brother of the late businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, has expressed doubts regarding the confession of Sonam Raghuvanshi and other suspects in the Meghalaya murder case. According to news agency ANI, Vipin believes that they are not admitting to their crimes and are trying to mislead the police.

After the Meghalaya Police confirmed that Sonam Raghuvanshi had confessed to her involvement in the murder of her husband during their honeymoon, Vipin Raghuvanshi spoke out against the suspects. He has requested an extension of eight days for police remand to facilitate further investigation.

Vipin stated, "Sonam has not yet confessed to her crime. She and the other suspects are attempting to deceive the police. We urge that their remand be extended for eight more days. The truth will be revealed through continued investigation and interrogation," as reported by ANI.

Five individuals, including Sonam Raghuvanshi and four others named Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, Raj Singh Kushwaha, and Anand, have been arrested by the Meghalaya Police in connection with the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. The victim's body was discovered in a gorge near Sohra (Cherrapunji) on June 2 after he and his wife went missing during their honeymoon.

The Meghalaya Police's SIT recently reconstructed the crime scene in the presence of Sonam Raghuvanshi and three other suspects. Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem mentioned that while the reconstruction provided clarity, one machete used in the crime is still missing. He explained that the SIT retraced the steps of the accused and identified the sequence of events leading up to the murder.

SP Syiem elaborated, "The accused demonstrated how the crime was committed. We have established that one machete is yet to be recovered. The accused showed how they disposed of the weapon, and efforts are being made to locate it."
