FBC Firebreak, Remedy's latest release, might not be the easiest game to run on PCs. Even on the latest high-end RTX 50 series cards, the game may run at sub-60 FPS with the best settings applied.

FBC Firebreak, the latest release from Remedy, poses a challenge for PC gamers due to its demanding nature. Even on high-end RTX 50 series cards, the game struggles to maintain 60 FPS with the best settings.

Optimized for a variety of hardware, FBC Firebreak includes a demanding ray tracing feature that can significantly impact performance.

Performance Testing on RTX 5080

We conducted tests on the RTX 5080 to evaluate its performance in this new first-person shooter. The results were quite intriguing.

The RTX 5080 is built for flawless 1440p and 4K gaming. Our testing involved both resolutions using the Founder's Edition GPU paired with a Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPU and 32 GB DDR5-6000 RAM to eliminate any system bottlenecks.

Testing was done at the highest settings with DLSS set to Performance to showcase the visual quality and upscaling capabilities.

Performance at 1440p

  • High preset + RT: 0.1% Low FPS 34, 1% Low FPS 49, Average FPS 53
  • High preset + No RT: 0.1% Low FPS 45, 1% Low FPS 96, Average FPS 107
  • High preset + No RT + DLSS Performance: 0.1% Low FPS 37, 1% Low FPS 145, Average FPS 180

Performance at 4K

  • 4K High preset + RT + DLSS FG 4x: 0.1% Low FPS 30, 1% Low FPS 37, Average FPS 222
  • 4K High preset + RT + DLSS FG 3x: 0.1% Low FPS 35, 1% Low FPS 42, Average FPS 193
  • 4K High preset + RT + DLSS FG 2x: 0.1% Low FPS 36, 1% Low FPS 43, Average FPS 138
  • 4K High preset + RT + DLSS (No FG): 0.1% Low FPS 39, 1% Low FPS 40, Average FPS 75

DLSS Super Resolution is essential to maintain a smooth gameplay experience, especially at 4K.

Recommendations for Playing FBC Firebreak

For optimal performance, we suggest using the highest settings with DLAA enabled for crisp visuals. Additionally, set DLSS frame generation to 2x on 5070 Ti and above, or 3x on RTX 5070 and below, to ensure high framerates and good picture quality.

Overall, FBC Firebreak on RTX 50 series GPUs delivers impressive visual quality and performance, making it a great gaming experience.
