Linebacker C.J. Mosley has officially announced his retirement from professional football after a decade in the league. In a social media post on Thursday, Mosley shared his decision to step away from the game and begin a new chapter in his life.

Selected as the No. 17 overall pick in the 2014 draft, Mosley made an immediate impact with the Ravens, earning recognition as the No. 2 in AP defensive rookie of the year voting. He also received his first Pro Bowl selection and was named a second-team All-Pro.

After spending his first five seasons with the Ravens, Mosley signed with the Jets in 2019 as a free agent, where he concluded his career. Unfortunately, in 2024, a neck injury limited him to just four games with three starts, leading to his release by New York in March.

Throughout his career, Mosley appeared in 133 games and achieved numerous accolades, including five Pro Bowl selections. He leaves the NFL with an impressive stat line of 1,083 total tackles, 12.0 sacks, 55 tackles for loss, 40 QB hits, 53 passes defensed, 12 interceptions, 10 forced fumbles, and nine fumble recoveries.
