A US judge has ruled that Justin Baldoni may access private text messages between Blake Lively and Taylor Swift relating to the film It Ends With Us, rejecting Lively's bid to keep them confidential.

Justin Baldoni has been granted access to private text messages between Blake Lively and Taylor Swift regarding the film It Ends With Us, as ruled by a US judge. This decision comes after Lively's attempt to keep the messages confidential was rejected.

Judge Lewis J. Liman stated that the messages are relevant to Lively's harassment and retaliation claims against Baldoni, despite Lively's argument that they were being used for public relations purposes. A protective order has been imposed to prevent the contents from being leaked to the press.

Lively had requested the judge to block access to the messages, claiming that Baldoni was involving Taylor Swift in the situation as a distraction. However, Baldoni's legal team continued to pursue the communications through the discovery process after withdrawing a subpoena to Swift and her legal advisers.

Earlier legal rulings in the It Ends With Us dispute saw Judge Liman dismissing Baldoni's $400 million countersuit against Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and others, while allowing Lively's original harassment claims to proceed. A trial is scheduled for March 2026.

A spokesperson for Lively mentioned that she has provided numerous documents in the case and accused Baldoni's publicists of using Swift's celebrity status to divert attention from the serious allegations against him. Baldoni's attorneys have not yet issued a statement.
