During the budget speech in the provincial assembly, Information Minister Azma Bukhari highlighted that the Punjab Government has allocated over Rs 800 billion for education and health in South Punjab sectors in the fiscal year budget. She emphasized that scholarships are being awarded based on merit, free from political influence. Bukhari also mentioned that the 'Clinic on Wheels' program has benefited 9.2 million people in the past year, along with the construction of new hospitals under the current administration.
She specifically praised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her dedication to eradicating mafia elements from government departments. Bukhari commended the CM for her commitment to serving all segments of society without bias.
Furthermore, Bukhari criticized PTI's opponents for exploiting the 'South Punjab card' and highlighted various regional projects like the Kachi Canal in Taunsa, shrimp farming in Muzaffargarh, Layyah's inaugural medical college, and the establishment of the University of Health Sciences in the region.
Issuing a stern warning to the opposition, Bukhari stated that the government will not tolerate disrespectful behavior in the assembly. She made it clear that any use of offensive language by the opposition will be met with a corresponding response.
