A tragic road traffic collision in East Clare this morning has resulted in the death of a man.
The incident, involving a pedestrian and a tractor, occurred around 10:45 am at Ballymulcashel, not far from Kilmurry Village.
Gardaí, National Ambulance Service paramedics, and units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Shannon station all responded to the scene.
The pedestrian, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been transferred to University Hospital Limerick for a post mortem examination.
The road where the collision took place is currently closed from its junction with the R462 Kilkishen to Kilmurry road for a technical examination.
Gardaí are urging any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage to come forward and assist with the investigation.
