Iran-Israel war LIVE: Follow The Hindu’s latest updates as the Israel-Iran conflict enters it’s 7th day and negotiations fail.

Israel and Iran continued their exchange of strikes on the seventh day of their conflict, with President Donald Trump considering U.S. military involvement. European ministers met with Iran's top diplomat in Geneva in an attempt to de-escalate the situation.

The first in-person meeting between Western and Iranian officials during the weeklong war ended without any immediate progress after four hours of discussions.

President Trump announced a delay of up to two weeks before deciding whether the U.S. would join Israel's air campaign against Iran. Potential U.S. involvement could target Iran's Fordo uranium enrichment facility, which is believed to be accessible only to American 'bunker-buster' bombs.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel's military operations in Iran would persist until the perceived threats posed by Iran's nuclear program and ballistic missiles are eliminated.

On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed readiness to resume diplomatic discussions only after Israel ceases its aggressive actions. This statement followed talks in Geneva with European counterparts regarding Iran's nuclear program.
