Police in Edinburgh have responded to a disturbance at a property, leading to the evacuation of homes and closure of roads.
The incident occurred on St Leonard’s Street around 9am on Saturday, with emergency services, including armed police, on the scene.
St Leonard’s Street is currently closed at the junction of St Leonard’s Place and Lutton Place as a precautionary measure.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed the situation, stating that several properties have been evacuated for safety reasons.
The spokesperson said, 'Around 9am on Saturday, June 21, 2025, we were called to a report of a disturbance at a property on St Leonard’s Street, Edinburgh. Officers are in attendance. St Leonard’s Street is closed at the junction of St Leonard’s Place and Lutton Place and a number of properties have been evacuated as a precaution.'
